CMC Electronics appoints Robert Atac Vice President in charge of Military Aviation

(Montréal, December 4, 2002) CMC Electronics Inc. has appointed Robert Atac, former CEO of Flight Visions, Inc. of Sugar Grove, Illinois, as vice president in charge of the military aviation business unit for the company. The announcement formalizes CMC Electronics' leadership team for military products following the acquisition of Flight Visions by CMC Electronics in July of this year. In leading CMC’s Military Aviation business, Atac oversees operations in Sugar Grove, Illinois; Ottawa, Ontario; and the United Kingdom.

Atac was the founder, president and CEO of Flight Visions since the company’s inception in 1986. He built the firm into a well-established military avionics company noted for the innovative design and manufacture of a range of cockpit systems, head-up displays and integrated cockpit avionics.

Flight Visions’ avionics are flying on more than 21 different military and civil aircraft throughout the world, including the U.S. Navy F-14B upgrade, the new Pilatus PC-21 trainer, and the new T-6B Trainer and Light Attack Aircraft announced by Raytheon at the 2002 Farnborough Air Show. The company is also working with Westland Helicopters, U.K., to develop an overhead mounted head-up display unit and associated mission avionics for rotary wing aircraft.
