Fokker Services Collaborates with CMC Electronics to Certify GNSS Receivers for Cargolux

The partnership prepared Cargolux for the ADS-B Out mandate.

Montréal, February 5, 2020 - Fokker Services and CMC Electronics established an essential partnership to certify a stand-alone GNSS receiver for ADS-B Out usage. The innovative dual installation approach, designed by each organizations’ respective engineering teams, ensured Cargolux’s compliance with the mandate in the U.S. and Europe.


ADS-B Out solution featuring CMC’s CMA-3024 for business aircraft equipped with Primus II

World’s first LPV STC for B737NG receives FAA approval

(Dubai, November 17, 2019) CMC Electronics is pleased to announce that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved an STC to install CMC Electronics’ SBAS-capable CMA-5024 GPS on B737NG aircraft to comply with worldwide ADS-B Out mandates as well as SBAS/GPS navigation enabling the world’s first LPV approaches for B737NGs. CMC’s solution, developed in collaboration with the FAA’s Navigation Programs office, offers operators the advantage of a cost-effective alternative to replacing their current multi-mode receiver (MMR).

CMC Electronics’ CMA-5024 receives TCCA STC certification for ADS-B out and LPV on B737NG aircraft family

Montréal, April 25, 2019 - CMC Electronics is pleased to announce that Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) has approved an STC to install CMC’s SBAS-capable CMA-5024 GLSSU on B737NG aircraft for DO-260B ADS-B out compliance and SBAS/GPS navigation with the option to enable LPV approach capability. FAA and EASA STC approvals are in progress and expected shortly for all B737NG aircraft types (-600/-700/-800).

Esterline develops customized CMA-5024 GLSSU for B777 aircraft under Boeing license

Montreal, March 5, 2019 - Esterline’s CMC Electronics (CMC) business unit is pleased to announce that they completed development and testing of a customized version of their CMA-5024 SBAS GPS for B777 aircraft under license with Boeing. This tailored version (P/N 100-601967-121) has been installed on several B777-200 aircraft with major airlines wherein the CMA-5024 fully integrates with the on-board avionics, including AIMS.

Esterline CMC Electronics Selected for Modernization of Swiss Cougar Helicopters

Heli Expo, March 4, 2019 – Esterline’s CMC Electronics (CMC) business unit is pleased to announce that RUAG Aviation and the Swiss Air Force have selected its CMA-9000 Flight Management System (FMS) and CMA-5024 GPS Landing System for the modernization of Swiss Air Force’s Cougar helicopters.  The Swiss Cougars are used for transport as well as search and rescue (SAR) missions.  The modernization of the Swiss Cougar helicopters further broadens the use of CMC’s navigation solutions by the Swiss Air Force, who also operates 15 Super Puma transport helicopters and 20 EC135/635 helicopters, all equipped with CMC’s CMA-9000 and CMA-5024.

Farnborough International Airshow – July 9, 2018 - Esterline Avionics Systems is pleased to announce the successful completion of ground tests and flight tests of their SBAS-capable CMA-5024 GLSSU on B737NG aircraft with the goal of obtaining an STC for ADS-B out and SBAS/GPS Navigation. With all testing completed on a Boeing B737-700 aircraft, the STC is anticipated for Q4 2018 for all B737NG aircraft types (-700/-800/-900). The option for LPV approach capability will be available as well.
